Our cows harvest solar energy in the form of plant material and convert it into meat and fertilizer. We use high density, rotational grazing to prune plants and then allow the plants to rest and recover. This system allows us to use nature’s design to improve the soil, plant diversity, and animal health.

The cows also graze cover crops. Cover crops are a diverse mix of annual crops planted together that help us rebuild fertility in cropland and help suppress weeds. This allows us to supplement our permanent pastures and extend the grazing season. During the winter, the cows graze stockpiled forages or bale graze. We calve in May and June to optimize the health of the cows and calves. The nutrition in the available forage during that time is what the cows need for calving and lactation. Calves are born in much warmer and drier conditions. We keep the calves on our farm until they leave for processing.

Beef is available by whole, half, or quarter. These bundles include an assortment of steaks, roasts, and hamburger. Our beef is free of antibiotics, added hormones, and GMOs. We do not feed grain since the rumen of a cow is specially designed to digest forage. Our beef is processed in a USDA inspected facility and is vacuum sealed for best storage.
