We were both raised on diversified, conventional farms. In 2007, we got married and ran a dairy with Wes’s parents for a short time. Then, we realized that if we were going to continue in agriculture, we needed to do something different. So, we learned about Joel Salatin and his grass based farm in Virginia, enrolled in a Holistic Management Course, and began to seek out others who were doing similar things here in North Dakota. Since then, we've tried to learn as much as we can and implement the things that work for us on our farm. We have four children and like them to be involved as much as they can. We hope they will grow up loving farming as much as we do!
